On September 1, Glukhiv celebrates three holidays at the same time: the 78th anniversary of liberation from German-fascist invaders, City Day and Day of Knowledge.
The mayor, Nadezhda Vailo, congratulated the residents of Glukhiv on the occasion and noted that it is necessary to stick together.
– So that our children can go to school today, someone had to give their lives. In 1943, our city became free from the German-fascist invaders. Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers won this war, and we have to thank for this with our love for our hometown, good deeds and undertakings, – N. Vailo noted.
People’s Deputy of Ukraine, the leader of the party “NASH KRAY” Andrii Derkach congratulated citizens at the concert in the evening.
– Sincere thanks our grandparents for the fact that we have the opportunity to celebrate feasts! It is also symbolic that this year we can also celebrate without another invader – the former mayor Michel Tereshchenko. This foreign tourist did not occupy the city, but, nevertheless, he deeply threw his hands into the treasury and created a web of corruption that still hinders the development of the city. But I am convinced that together we can overcome this. And Glukhiv will flourish, develop, and become truly comfortable. – Andrii Derkach noted.
The deputy also congratulated pupils, students and teachers on the Day of Knowledge and shared that Glukhiv, with his long pedagogical tradition, should become the first city in the country where a monument to the teacher will be erected.
“So far, this idea is at the discussion stage. Perhaps it will be a sculptural composition. Or a screen in the city center that will broadcast videos about our teachers. But we will definitely find the means to implement it very soon. Of course, this is a people’s project. Therefore, the party “NASH KRAY” announces a competition for the best design of the monument. On Teacher’s Day, we will summarize and announce the winner.” – Andrii Derkach assured.
