The opening ceremony of the Festival will be held at the National Opera of Ukraine.
The 15th International Orthodox Film Festival “Pokrov” will take place in Kiev in the period from October 6 to October 8.
60 films from Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Finland, Armenia, Lithuania, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Serbia and Russia apply for the main prizes of the Festival in the categories of animation, short, documentary and feature-lenght films.
The opening ceremony will take place on October 6 at 5 p.m. in the Taras Shevchenko National Opera.
The official opening will be attended by His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Onuphriy, the MP of Ukraine Andrii Derkach, Project Manager and Head of the Synodic Department for Youth Affairs of the UOC Archbishop Iona (Cherepanov), Head of the Synodic Information Department of the UOC Archbishop Climent (Vecherya).
The opening will be accompanied by the world premiere of the documentary “Baptism of Rus”.
Views of the entries will take place in Kiev Cinema House (6 Saksahanskoho Street) on October 6, 7 and 8, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; free admission.
